i really wonder....

i heard the other day that a former colleague of mine is separated from her husband....

I was shocked. While the whole thing may not have been perfect they did look like they were getting on fine(from the outside)

The husband lost his job and naturally this put a strain on them emotionally and perhaps otherwise...

Now while i dont have all the details or first hand info i heard the marriage crashed for the following reason( and possibly some others too)!!!

Wife is a british citizen and husband asked/requested/pleaded(whatever he sha did) asked her to file for him so he could share this benefit too. Maybe it was the way he asked i dont know but babe sha insinuated that , it may have been for this reason he married her!!!!

Like i said i dont have first hand info, but surely there's no smoke without fire. the story may be true.....

My concern is this, assuming the story is true:

  • Was husband wrong to ask his wife to file for him?
  • Is he thus a gold digger?
  • should the matter have degenerated this much?
  • Is wife right on her assumptions?
  • In an ideal situation should the wife have filed for him as her dearly wedded husband?
Truly i wonder.........

i dont think it is a big deal for a wife to file for her husband. she should have done her due diligence to know if he was marrying her for papers before the marriage an not during it

hmmm...sumthin is not adding up...there's more to it...i don't think there's anything wrong with filing for ur spouse

She should have filed for him without blinking. I guess there were other stuff happening with them apart from this issue.

what's the big deal in filing.

Anyways, there's always more to what the eyes can see.

I would say given the circumstances, she might have had her reasons for coming up with the 'gold digger' notion but ordinarily, given the right circumstances, she shouldn't be told before she helps him out..

May be she had her doubts all the while....

wetin your own?

moreover who marries without an alternative reason these days??????

and if she didnt file for him-she go get her reason o-even if it is an unreasonable one

What's the big deal? (like everyone has asked). Shouldn't a loving wife even be willing to file before her husband asks her?

And is the purpose of their marriage only about "why he married her," because I'm also wondering whether the question of "why she married him" isn't equally as important. Oh, trivial issues...disappear!

There's more to it.
Like everyone has said. If he hadn't lost his job, the issue probably would not have come up.

There's definitely more to this story...

However, assuming that the details supplied were true and accurate...then husband doesn't even need to ask wifey to file for him...I think it's just normal that she should.

Him asking though doesn't necessarily mean that was his primary reason for marrying her...he may have decided to relocate following the loss of his job, and probably thought being a citizen would enhance his job chances.

So far, not enough reason(s) for a seperation...I hope they can work things out and get back together...all the best to them.

Hmmn, something is missing from that story. Let's not dissect other people's problems. How are the kids?

of cos there's more to the story otherwise, i dont see the big deal in filing - when it comes to helping your spouse, there shouldnt be conditions or restraints.
