Hair net- To wear or not to wear!!!

I hope i get some male perspectives on this discourse!!!
I grew up watching/seeing my mum wear hair nets.
I thought/assumed/believed it was normal. I was happy when i started wearing hair nets too.
Now i'm married with children and they too have started to watch/see/know me as a hair net wearer.
The challenge is this, i was once gisting with some friends and one mentioned a husband reporting his wife to her that his wife was a hair net wearer. And his main grouse was that the hair net constantly smelt of "dodo" i.e fried plantain. In her defense i said well better her net smelling of dodo than her brazillian weave on that cost an arm and a leg.
Some of my female friends have expressed concern about my hair nets.***eyes roll***
I am comfortable wearing them but i dont want to be a pain to my hubby you see.... truth is i find that many husbands dont always mention the things they dont like e.g wearing hair nets or tying wrappers around the house...
So hair nets....
... to be worn by wives or not?

Let me start with myself..I never wear wrapper in the house, because hubby told me categorically he abhors it..but i wear hair net, and hubby complains about it as well, i always tell him do you want the hair i spent hours fixing to spoil when i sleep?, and am not really a scarf person, so he allows me to wear it to sleep but as soon as i wake up i have to take it off, if i forget to remove it which happens a lot of times, he grabs it off my hair and flings it away...so in answer to your question , wrapper and hair net around the house is a no no ...you should get those silk scarfs and use if you need to cover your hair around the house..its a turn off for most men, they say it reminds them of their mothers blah blah..

I think u should ask your husband his preference or what he thinks about the issue. I have no personal experience in this issue but i have read on someone's blog recently where a reader wrote in saying her boyfriend hated her wearing a scarf to bed. These men don't understand that you have to wrap your hair (if it's permed) unless you would look like a hot mess in the morning.

Wrapper is a no no no, pls dont be pulling Ekaete looks.

As for the nets, if hubby says no, u should find an alternative, some of these little things have been known to cause marital gbege.

All i have to say is: Is it really that damn serious fellas?!? Im sure there are much more pressing matters to attend to in life than your wifey wearing a hair net, especially if its only around the house!

Hummmm... this is an interesting one. I do wear wear hair net although I am not married. My man doesnt seem to mind it, but I do think it's unsexy. haha.

Jemima and Madam Sting seem to have spoken my mind.
Ask for the preference but he has to meet you halfway.

I think its ok to wear it to bed. But immediately u wake up it should be taken off. It shouldn't be worn around the house. I mean you dint make your hair for others apart from your husband to admire. So why not leave it open for him to admire. Wrapper is a no no.

I don't wear wrappers at all, nor hair net often but I wouldn't just conclude they're bad. It depends on you and your hubby.

silk scarves are better for the hair as they help protect the hair (natural or relaxed) from breakage..

Like some mentioned put on just before bed, and immediately u wake up.. (i personally need to remember to remove when i wake up)

nawa!

This is my first visit to your blog and I am enjoying it.

Wrappers are a no-no. They are not sexy and they are not that practical anyway. Get shorts (if you are in Nigeria where it is hot) or joggers (if you are in cold country) leave wrappers alone...

On the issue of hairnets... the truth - ditch them and ditch them forever... get a silk scarf - as aloted said in her comment, they are kind to natural or permed hair.

If you are not a scarf person or you are a rough sleeper and the scarf wont do the job - get a doorag!

Doorags are magic - I can testify to their goodness cos i am a rough sleeper and my scarf tends to fall off... Doorags do the same job scarfs or hairnets do and they look good doing it.

Very best

I hear some men complain about the hairnet, personally I am not a lover of hairnet but I sometimes use a silk scarf at night when I have my hair out. I guess it is something you can ask your husband if he likes.

I've started to tie scarf to bed now....

Not sure my husband could be bothered really. He barely sees anything as it is. But i agree tis not good for a Lagos big girl to be spotted tying wrapper or wearing hair nets even in her house LOL

A big NO NO to wearing wrapper in the house. That's not appealing to the eyes at all. As for the hairnet, well I wear it to bed and when I want to take my bath and after that, it is off.
